A VR horror game designed for a research about adaptive game experience system.

Research Background

If there is no frustration or the frustration is too high for the player, there is no motivation or engagement to continue playing the game. Besides that, horror games players will have an additional set of horror-related emotions, such as anxiety, suspense, fear.

System Structure of the Game

Players wear VR, enter a building, and escape the building after collecting a specified number of props while being chased by the enemies in it. A dynamic experience adjustment system will be applied into the demo - player’s behavior (head rotation and trigger force) and performance will influence the experience (music, SFX, enemy, haptic) of the game, and try to find the balance between the immersion, fun and psychological comfort.
